I think of myself as a pretty flippin' hilarious person.

She was funnier.

I'll miss you bud.

I met Erin in high school.  It all started when she started dating one of the guys in our little "grouping".
I recall a few of us walking past a restaurant on King street downtown where we saw the happy couple inside.
I, being the smart ass I am, knocked on the window and yelled SUCK IT.

There is more to that story- but I'll leave it there.

Erin and I most recently drove down to KW together from Toronto..... to another wonderful woman's funeral.  Just 2 months ago.
She was in a lot of pain and discomfort, but of course would hardly complain or let me know.  I remember feeling useless because I couldn't take over the wheel for her.  (You know-- the whole "hitting a car during your road test" had still plagued me, and although it has been YEARS, I still haven't gone to re-try that one).
Maybe I should re-think that.

Erin was driving her old-ass car down to KW that weekend, to pick up a "new to her" car that a friend was giving her.  She was so excited.
But of course the ride's conversation was dreary, fact being that we were going to the funeral of a 35 year old woman who had just lost her battle with cancer.  But still, we managed to go off topic and talk about ridiculous things and times past.  Erin was the funniest girl I knew.  She loved laughing.  LOVED it.

I will think of her muchly.
I will miss her entirely.
I will try and stay "funny" and keep the laughter going.... she would have liked that :)

how the eff did this not win????????

emo post

Last week I bit the bullet and did something I have been thinking about for some time now.
I gots me a another tattoo.
It has been 15 years since I last got "inked".

I felt the timing was spot on for this new one.
10 years ago yesterday Elliott Smith left this world.
He was 34 years old.  (I am 34 years old).
His music is one thing that absolutely chills me.

Immediately after
A little later on

BOOM.

I felt the timing was spot on for this new one.

Falafels and nudity - not necessarily in that order

C and I spent Monday together, doing summer activites in the city (while we can!)

I remembered upon waking up that morning that Momos - A middle Eastern restaurant I worked at years ago (and has, in my opinion- the best falafel out there) was CLOSING FOREVER on the 20th.

Monday being the 19th and my final chance to savor in the flavour- we hopped on our bikes and rode down to Harbord street.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Nadia working and took a seat on the patio.  I got myself a Arnie-Palmer and waited for the party in my mouth to happen.

The falafel was nothing short of amazing.  I am so glad we got a chance to go before they closed.
Oh and the highlight- Nads:

N- You guys want anything else at all?
US- No we're goo....
N- OKAY BYE!

 ;)

We then booked it down to the ferry and headed to the islands for the afternoon.
Biked around, ate a $4 Popsicle, and of course, hit the beach--

We opted for left...

According to this study I guess I should have been inclined to go right?

Tween-me wanted so badly to BE Michelle Pfeiffer.

I think it is possible that 34 year old me is regressing.
I've started wearing red lipstick again

So fierce.

My hair is almost blond-ish AND I have bangs.
Did I mention I am growing it out....

Leather Jacket- check.
That's one aspect of the fall I like.  JACKET.
My black skinny jeans are getting... pretty grey-ish.

I best be buying a new pair if I want to pull this off look whilest leaving the office on King street!

What kind of boots are those?

I need to stop

Some days I sit and watch "Military Homecoming" videos just to torture myself.

THEN I stumble upon this doozy.

Wet eyes at the office, much??

In memory of a special lady who died one week ago

With her swimsuit designs, she has helped to make my body resemble a pin-up model.....

I've posted this before... but all must see it. (Last time I swear)

Marina Abramović and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.

At her 2010 MoMA retrospective Marina performed 'The Artist Is Present' as part of the show, where she shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing and this is what happened.

how does he do it?

We have a very tightly folded blanket on our "window chair".

The cat loves to burrow.

He found his way in there, yes he did!

The power of my brain

So YAH it was supposed to rain.

Hnmmm not so sure now are we?

I was talling a colleague here about the powers of my brains when it comes to CONTROLLING the weather.  Like if I put enough power into it, I can change shit.

I told him that I WOULD find myself on a patio after work today.  It WOULD happen.

I checked first the window beside me... looks promising.
I next checked the Weather Network and BOOM.
5pm calling for partial sun and 23 degrees that may even feel like 25!

So naturally I had to send him THIS in an email:
